The wonderful Shelburne Museum in Shelburne Vermont invited us to install a piece for their 6-month long PAPERWORK IN 3-D exhibition May 15- October 30, 2011. The proposed site is an enormous silo in the heart of the round barn - the main exhibition space - accessible only by ladder and viewable only through a 3 foot tall barred window. At first, we considered lighting the entire space with paper lights and worked up numerous ideas. After throwing these out one-by-one, it occured to us that the viewing area was so limited, it might be interesting to seal it off entirely with paper, creating a vertical"tunnel".
